ABSTRACT
A SHORT PROJECT SUMMARY!
In 250 words or less, summarize your project! Tell us why your research question matters, how you conducted your experiment, and what the outcome was.
Control Group
(NOT ALL PROJECTS REQUIRE THIS SECTION.)
A control group is when you do your experiment once without changing anything, then test again changing your variables.
Variables
HOW DID YOU MEASURE YOUR PROJECT?
• Independent variable – the aspect of the experiment you are changing
• Dependent variable – the variable you measure (the outcome)
OPTIONAL VARIABLES:
• Controlled Variables – the things you control to ensure valid results; what you keep the same for each test
• Extraneous Variables – things you can’t control but which could affect the outcome
WORKS CITED
WHAT SOURCES DID YOU LOOK AT WHEN CONDUCTING YOUR RESEARCH?
Create a bulleted list of all sources cited in your project. This includes any websites, articles, books, or other sources. Citations should be in MLA format.
HYPOTHESIS
WHAT DO YOU EXPECT TO HAPPEN?
Make an educated guess about the outcome of your experiment! Justify your hypothesis using evidence from your background research.
USE THE FORMAT:
I hypothesize that __________ will happen because __________.
BACKGROUND
CONDUCT RESEARCH ABOUT YOUR QUESTION!
Write a few short paragraphs with facts about your research question. This should include information and definitions that your readers will need to know to understand your experiment.
